estate tax. On May 26th, 2001 both houses of Congress passed the
Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, which we refer to as
the Act. The final ingredient required to make the Act a formal law was
President Bush's signature on the appropriate papers, which occurred on June 7,
